With great joy we  introduce you you  YVIRÁ, the recently created bimonthly magazine of the UNESCO Chair of Science for Education. Inspired by the Tupi-Guarani word for tree, the Chair pays homage to the indigenous peoples of South America and at the same time gives symbolic value to a deeply rooted structure, such as Science, and with many branches, leaves, flowers and fruits, such as Education.

The UNESCO Chair was a proposal by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in partnership with the D'Or Institute for Research and Education, operated by the Brazilian Network of Science for Education, and formally approved by UNESCO in 2023.

YVIRÁ is a magazine for educators, researchers, university students, policymakers, and the general public interested in how science can positively impact education. In this very first issue, we offer high-quality content, including articles, interviews, reviews, and a space for teachers to submit their questions.

We hope you enjoy and make the most of the fruits of YVIRÁ.
